The SequenceNumber (Column 2) value ranks properties based on EPS transactional data from the last 30 days, with 1 indicating the best-performing hotel and others following in ascending numerical order.
The SequenceNumber value is determined across both Hotel Collect and Expedia/EAN Collect properties. The algorithm used by Analytics allows for ties so multiple properties can have the same number. That is why you’ll see 1 then 800. So the top 800 or so hotels are equally ranked.
The SequenceNumber of 99999999 means the property is not ranked.
EPS supply two Active hotel lists:
- ActivePropertyList is for EPS Collect hotels;
- ActivePropertyBusinessModel for EPS Collect plus Hotel Collect hotels.
Any gaps in SequenceNumber in the ActivePropertyList is either because the previous hotels had equal ranking or because the hotel is only Hotel Collect and so missing from ActivePropertyList.
This explains why the ActivePropertyList has 741 hotels with SequenceNumber = 1 (from spreadsheet row count) and then the next Sequence number is 801 at row count 743. This means that there are 57 hotels which are Hotel Collect only properties and so missing in ActivePropertyList but present in ActivePropertyBusinessModel.
In ActivePropertyBusinessModel there are no gaps and there are 800 hotels with SequenceNumber = 1 and the next hotel has SequenceNumber 801.
