What are sanctions?
Sanctions involve economic and trade restrictions against blocked parties. The UN has established 30 sanctions regimes, including in Iraq, Iran, Sudan and Yemen and against ISIL (Da’esh) and Al- Qaida, and the Taliban. The US, EU and UK also enforce their own sanctions regimes that target terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, those engaged in activities related to weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to national security.
What does this mean for us?
Any company incorporated in the US, EU or one of the 195 countries which are a member of the UN agree to comply with sanctions. Therefore, we must screen travelers against sanctions lists to ensure we do not engage in transactions with blocked parties.
You are responsible for and obligated under your contract with us to provide accurate traveler data and not put us in breach of sanctions. We can advise and support you in providing accurate information as well as help with additional considerations if your business has multiple supply sources.
